Privacy policy

This is an English translation for convenience; if there is any difference, the Albanian version prevails.

This policy explains what personal data TopMarket.al (hereinafter “TopMarket” or “we”) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. We process information in accordance with Law no. 124/2024 “On the protection of personal data”.

1. Who we are

The data controller is TopMarket.al, Rruga Medar Shtylla, Tirana. For any question about personal data, write to us at info@topmarket.al.

2. What data we collect

  • Account: name, email, phone number, city and password (stored encrypted; we cannot see it). If you log in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
  • Listings: the title, description, price, photos, location and contact details you add to the listing. These are public.
  • Messages: chat messages and those you send through contact forms, so we can forward them to the recipient.
  • Verification: if you request the “Verified” badge, the photo of the identity document you upload. We use it only for the check and delete it once we have made a decision.
  • Job applications: the CV and message you send to an employer.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and, in the app, the device token for push notifications.
  • Cookies: cookies required for logging in to your account and for favorites, as well as statistics cookies to understand how the site is used.

3. Why we use it

  • To create and maintain your account and to publish listings (providing the service you request).
  • To connect buyers and sellers: chat, email, phone, job applications.
  • For notifications you have asked for yourself: new messages, saved searches, listing expiry.
  • For security: preventing fraud, spam and fake listings (legitimate interest).
  • To improve the site using aggregate statistics.
  • To meet legal obligations when required by the authorities.

4. What is publicly visible

Listings, the seller's name and phone number (if you choose to show it) can be seen by anyone. Your email is not shown publicly: messages reach you through us.

5. Agency and agent profiles

For agencies and agents who publish listings on TopMarket, we may create a public profile with their name, contact number and listings. The owner of the profile can take over its management, change it or request its deletion at any time by writing to us.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with:

  • the user you write to or apply to (e.g. the seller or the employer);
  • the providers that help us operate: the hosting service, the email service and Google (Google sign-in, push notifications via Firebase and statistics);
  • the authorities, when the law requires us to.

Some of these providers may process data outside Albania, with the safeguards required by law.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and listings: until you delete your account.
  • Messages: until the conversation or the account is deleted.
  • Verification document: until the verification decision, then it is deleted.
  • Application CVs: up to 12 months, or sooner if the job listing is deleted.
  • Technical and security data: up to 12 months.

8. Your rights

You have the right to request access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction of processing and transfer, and to object to processing. You can delete your account yourself from “My profile”. For any other request, write to us at info@topmarket.al; we reply within 30 days.

If you believe your rights have been violated, you can complain to the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Personal Data Protection (idp.al).

9. Security

We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), encrypted passwords and restricted access to data. No system is 100% secure, so do not share your password with anyone.

10. Minors

TopMarket is for people over 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the update is shown at the top; for important changes we will notify you by email or on the site.
